Vulcanalia 2013

If you read the Vulcanalia 2012 post, let me sum up last years event. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about let me explain. Vulcanalia is an event held at The Artistry. Just one in a tribe of art galleries that have blended art with, well everything! Vulcanalia blends an appreciation for fire, the thrill of metal working along side various sculptures and artwork. All topped off with shows of fire, fashion and music. Fashion show organized by fashionista Tara of vintagebeautifulcreatures. The first of two fashion shows, fall in Greenville was the theme. Hair by Yours Truly, along side the fabolous Ashley Harvey of Ulta. Before I tell the story of Vulcanalia 2013, I must tell you I was inspired by the previous year. I wanted to diminish the amount of people back stage while putting on a more interesting show. Tara(beautifulvintagecreatures) and I decided to do two shows rather than just the one. The first show would be ready to wear. The second show would be fantasy. What the true theme turned out to be nobody knows, since it was changed and changed again many times over. What I do know is it gave me a chance to try to pre build the styles, or prepare in advance in a way I couldn't the year prior. Not just ordinary wigs but "fashion pieces". Avant-garde pieces of art that would diminish the amount of styling required. Only problem was the budget of only 40 dollars to work with. Most of the hair pieces were constructed from bulk hair. Bulk hair is the term the industry uses for loose, non-wefted hair. Was it human hair you ask? You tell me. However you unleash your wrath of judgement, check out these behind the scenes pictures!
