Stylist typing on Vulcanalia 2012

Vulcanalia 2012 Hosted by Christi's Closet, the clothes easily flowed from day to night. Warm layers yet still exswposing skin, Outfits surely inspired from local upstate fashion in the fall. All in all an interesting cohesion of rustic cabin meets aristocratic estate. Amazing taste in fashion not enough? Both music and exotic fire dancing were supplied in high, however the supply of beer ran low. Back stage was chaos, with one person directing models, stylist and makeup artist. It was everyone's will who was involved that kept the show in order, many girls going on stage in the wrong accessories or returning to find items missing. Many a wondering art connoisseur got quiet a view stumbling on a changing model, and the sea of people made it almost impossible to style the write person. After an hour of asking strangers what their names were, I finally pulled a model to my chair. With the directive wisdom of Christi, I was told to style in a nerd le chic way. Translated after a quick moment of panic, I was told to do a pony tail. Pony tail!?!? Enough said. All the models handed to me needed simple styling, which lead me to believe despite my qualifications, there were obvious doubts of my ability. May I say that doubt is a constant enemy one must battle with when meeting a new client, whether you're the most accomplished stylist around your worthless until proven otherwise. I am use to this, but not on opening night! Here I was at my first fashion show and all I have to show for it is a few basic styles, mostly plain, sleek styled hair. More complicated styles were given to other stylist, and so I felt another opportunity slip from me. Partially slighted, as the show went on from behind me I worked on my own art, reflecting my own style and technique. Full extensions in purple and platinum blonde.
Looks happy right? Here is a picture of one of the looks done by Christi"s closet. Photo by Davey Morgan Studio
